  • To catalyse large-scale change in 14 countries and 7 product lines.
  • To accelerate implementation of a new worldwide business strategy.
  • To achieve a profit improvement of US$210m.
  • To take 30% out of the fixed cost base without labour dispute.

  • We coached the CEO to lead the overall transformation agenda across fourteen countries.

1000 early career professionals in fifty-two local government organisations

 

Project duration:

12 months

 

Project scope and objective

  • This was a highly complex multi-stream project that we managed from inception to completion.
  • The programme was sponsored by the Department of Social Services, UK Central Government.
  • There were many different stakeholders in 52 Local Government organisations UK wide.
  • The overarching objectives were to substantially reduce the time required for early career professionals to become competent and to reduce the high percentage of early career professionals leaving the profession prematurely.
  • On behalf of the client we marketed the programme to 52 organisations in order to secure stakeholder buy-in to implement the programme in their organisation.

Consulting approach

  • We provided a bespoke, three-part development programme for 1000 participants including Newly Qualified Social Work Professionals, employers of Newly Qualified Social Work Professionals, supervisors and other stakeholders responsible for supporting the development of Newly Qualified Social Work Professionals.
  • We designed and delivered a three-level programme: Foundation Programme, Consolidation Programme, Master Practitioner Programme.
  • We project managed the entire programme from conception to completion.

Outcomes and results

  • The overall programme was delivered on time despite major structural changes within many of the client organisations.
  • The positive impact of the programme resulted in the original scope of work expanding to include new organisation and new participant groups.
  • The content of the various development programmes, combined with the approach that Performance Impact took to managing this project were instrumental in substantially changing how early career hires are selected, brought into and managed in this profession.

  • We coached the Director of Strategic Research to gain stakeholder buy-in for a global business development agenda.
  • We worked with the global research team to create a culture of creativity and innovation that would set the standard for industry wide, leading edge research work.
  • We designed and provided a suite of leadership workshops to support the implementation of a worldwide strategy.
  • We coached key professionals and regional directors to realise their potential and the potential of the strategic transformation agenda.

Outcomes and result

  • Six months after Performance Impact were engaged on this project the Director of Strategic Research was promoted to the most senior rank in the organisation.
  • The strategic research provided by this team is now acknowledged as leading edge and a highly important contributor to strategic investment decisions made by clients.
